Fertilizer Instructions
- Apply fertilizer when temperature is fairly cool and lawn is dry.
- For best results, apply fertilizer with a broadcast type spreader as opposed to a drop spreader. No matter the type of spreader used, please read your manual carefully so you do not burn your lawn. Typically the setting should be at 5 or 6. This is for a medium or average application. Use a higher setting if needed. Apply this fertilizer to your lawn 4 to 5 times per year; use the holidays as a memory guide (e.g. Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, and Halloween for a winterizer).
- For new turf, spread the fertilizer on the bare dirt or on top of the grass. In either case, it is required to water in the fertilizer. Be careful not to over-fertilize a new lawn.
- GTF Fertilizer is a balanced fertilizer that is useful for all times of the year. It contains 3% iron so BE CERTAIN TO SWEEP ALL CONCRETE AND STONE SURFACES PRIOR TO WATERING THE FERTILIZER IN or permanent rust stains will appear.
- Adequate watering is critical following applications! Be sure to water the fertilized area immediately following the application and resume with normal watering thereafter.
- The fertilizer is packaged in 40 lb bags and will cover 8,000 sq ft depending on the desired application rate. A typical application is 5 lbs per 1000 sq ft.
